Woman with “a heart of gold” wins Powerball prize worth $1.000.000

Powerball has been rolling over since October without managing to produce a jackpot winner along the way, but it didn’t stop several enthusiastic players from becoming incredibly rich. Pam Lestico from Minnesota is one of them – she recently collected $1.000.000, after missing the top prize by only one digit. Try succeeding where she failed by matching the entire winning line in the next Powerball draw to snatch $269.000.000!

The woman from Little Falls correctly guessed the five main numbers 25, 36, 37, 55 and 60, but missed the bonus ball 6 in the Powerball draw on December 9th. Lestico purchased her ticket at the Casey’s General Store on Haven Road in Little Falls, and discovered it was worth $1.000.000 one day after the draw. She described herself as a regular lottery player, who was always optimistic about the prospect of netting major cash reward in the future.

“I play every Wednesday and Saturday, just one ticket. I’ve been playing forever. I always said, ‘Someday I’m going to win,’ and I did!” explained the lucky lady after claiming her pay-out at the Minnesota Lottery’s office in Roseville.

Her daughters Kelly Miller and Lori Finken were by her side when she collected the oversized-cheque worth $1.000.000, and said their mother was “surprisingly calm” after checking her ticket and realizing it’s about to change her life. Ms. Miller, however, didn’t do such a good job at keeping her composure.

“I was in my pyjamas, jumping up and down and screaming,” recalled Miller and added her mom really deserved this incredible sum of money since “she has a heart of gold.”
