North Carolina resident collects $200.000 four months after winning

Holiday season is always the right time to go through your old lottery tickets looking for a miracle, and if you’re lucky like Teresa King you might even find one. This fortunate woman collected $200.000 just in time for Christmas, with a lottery ticket she purchased four months ago!

King’s winning ticket, bought at the Citistop on Patton Avenue in Asheville, matched the four of the main numbers and the Power Ball number in the Powerball draw on August 19th. The prize for missing the jackpot by one of the main numbers usually amounts to $50.000, but the fortunate woman from Fletcher scooped four times more thanks to spending an extra buck on the Power Play option. Four months passed by before Ms. King realized her ticket was the winning one, since she was too preoccupied with other things.

“My husband and I keep the tickets in a little dresser beside our bed. We had so much going on, we just forgot about them. It’s a Christmas miracle. It’s one of those treasures I found that I didn’t know I had,” recalled the lucky woman after collecting her windfall.

Christmas may be over, but there’s still time for miracles to happen. Powerball has been rolling over for two months and it failed to produce a jackpot winner in the latest draw on December 27th. The winning line consisted of the numbers 3, 9, 16, 56 and 60 with the Power Ball 3 – one player from Georgia came really close to matching them all, becoming $2.000.000 richer in the process. Almost 1.320.000 players who participated in that night’s draw collected a total of around $12.034.000 in non-jackpot prizes. Try succeeding where they’ve all failed and correctly match all the Powerball numbers to snatch $384.000.000!
